Lang Brothers Racing have further signaled their intention to develop their breeding interests with the purchase of a rural property in the Hilltops Region of NSW.
Situated in the small hamlet of Kingsvale (nestled between Young and Hardern) , the 88 acre property will allow the team to continue to grow their already strong broodmare band , as well as dabble in the weanling market.
Managing Director Stu Lang confirmed the sale late last week and indicated this was an important strategic milestone for the future of Lang Brothers Racing.
“Breeding is something Matt and I have really started to focus on over the past 12 months and an area I am particular passionate about” said Lang.
“We started looking for a breeding property about two years ago .We saw a property listed at Kingsvale and straight away the area looked suitable for what we were aiming to do. The countryside is some of the best in Australia with rolling hills and large pasture fields.”
“The property is only a short drive to Young and the same to Harden. The property has loads of potential. Good water supply, good fencing, good quality paddocks. It is a great canvas for us to work with and develop over the next couple of years,” added Lang.
Adding further value to the purchase is existing relationships with Bowness Stud and Redbank North, who are based in the area . Not to mention Newhaven Park, Twin Hills and Kooringal who also call the area home. It is a region known for producing top quality horses and Lang Brothers Racing is hoping to achieve similar results in the years to come.
“Being so close to the Highway, we have access to both Hunter and Victorian based farms”.
“We will continue to ensure we are using top commercial stallions and continue our quest to breed top class thoroughbreds , which can more than hold their own at the top sales” concluded Lang.
Lang Brothers Racing purchased broodmare Fashion Black (by BERTOLINI) at the recent Great Southern Sale in Melbourne for a potential mating with BRAZEN BEAU, continuing their support for the Darley based stallion.
They already have the BRAZEN BEAU x BRAHMAGIRI (by LOHNRO) foal ready to drop this season, and with the strong sales results of his progeny already this year, are confident he will make it as a proven top class sire.
BRAHMAGIRI will be served by HINCHINBROOK this season, along with fellow mare FAITH IN MY (by SAVABEEL).
FAITH IN MY has a lovely EPAULETTE filly on the ground (pictured) and is also the dam of the teams exciting FIGHTING SUN filly, which has just completed breaking, and will head to Bjorn Baker.
FASHION BLACK compliments CARNEGIE mare AUTOMATIC SLIM, who will head to Widden Stud this spring to be served by exciting stallion, YOUR SONG.
YOUR SONG is of course the sire of their own up and coming prospect VERSETTO.
The purchase of the property is an important stepping-stone for Lang Brothers Racing as they continue to make a strong foothold into the breeding industry.
