South African jockey Robbie Fradd will have his first ride for the Billy Healey stable since the easing of the Covid-19 zoning rules at tomorrows Sunshine Coast meeting.
Fradd had developed a potent combination with the stable over the last 12 months , evidenced by a 70% winning strike rate , courtesy of five winners from only seven rides.
Three of those victories came aboard the Lang Brothers owned mare GIN N BITTERS.
VERSETTO has only had the three starts in Queensland since joining the Healey stable late last year.
He debuted for the stable with a batting third as a well backed favourite in January before resuming with an unlucky 6th at Ipswich in May .
“I don’t think he will have any issues with the 1400m “ said Healey .
“As long as he is able to settle in the run I am confident he will get the trip. We have the right man on board to help him do that “ mused Healey .
Ridden conservatively by James Orman last start , VERSETTO settled further back than midfield and despite being forced wide on the turn , rattled home down the outside late to nab second.
That effort clearly didn’t go unnoticed by the bookies and VERSETTO is currently the $2,70 fav for the WIMMERS CREAMING SODA Class 3 Handicap at the Sunshine Coast tomorrow afternoon.
The Healey stable will be well represented on the program with the promising filly EL NOIR making her debut in Race 3 before EL PRADOS rounds out the day in Race 8 .
The Lang Brothers will also be keeping a close eye on the debut of KIRALAA in the second race on the program .
The BRAZEN BEAU filly was born and bred at Redbank North out of their own LOHNRO mare BRAHMAGIRI , selling at the 2018 Magic Millions Sale on the Gold Coast.
The filly is currently $41 for her debut after two underwhelming barrier trials.
