The education of three year old gelding EXPERIENCED will continue this week when he steps out over the mile on Thursday at Gosford.

The rangy son of ex Darley Stallion SKILLED has not been seen since making his race debut at Bathurst on Anzac Day.

Trainer Luke Hilton had originally intended stepping him out at Hawkesbury last week, however the horse was felled by a stone bruise, which took longer to heal than first anticipated.

EXPERIENCED may have in fact had the foot injury during his run at Bathurst, adding further merit to his debut effort.

Whilst the 1600m of Thursday’s assignment again looks too short, it is merely another cog in the wheel as the team look to races over 2000m and beyond.

Top provincial jockey Jay Ford has been booked for the ride and should be well placed to guide EXPERIENCED around the tight Gosford track.

EXPERIENCED will once again carry the navy blue and green colours of Lang Brothers Racing and continues the strong partnership between LBR and Hilton Racing.

They recently teamed up to purchase the ex Chris Waller HIGH CHAPPARAL mare SAUCY LADY, as well as a nice SMART MISSILE gelding from the Inglis Classic Sale in February.

The team are certainly hoping for a forward showing from EXPERIENCED on Thursday, however know the road ahead is a long and patient one.
