Girl Sunday is back in full training with Gerald Ryan at Rosehill with an eye on Brisbane winter riches.

Girl Sunday enjoyed a well earned spell at Willowdene under the watchful eye of Stephen Hill and has been back with Gerald for just over a month.

Gerald reports she is a bit lighter this time in and we should see her stepping out in a barrier trial in the next week or so.

Having strung together three city class wins during her last preparation , the owners are hoping she can take the next step this preparation and earn that all important black type victory.

An imposing daughter of Encosta De Lago, Girl Sunday shapes as a fantastic broodmare prospect once her racing days are over.
Encosta De Lago mares are fast earning the reputation as top class producers, and it is hard to think Girl Sunday won’t continue that success.

The wet weather in Sydney has played havoc with many Winter carnival aspirants, including Girl Sunday. Girl Sunday was originally scheduled to run in the Dark Jewel Classic during the upcoming Scone Carnival, however she will now resume in the Silk Stocking for Fillies and Mares at the Gold Coast on May 6.

A strong performance at the Coast will hopefully see her head further north to Brisbane for a shot at some of the winter riches on offer for the ladies, with her grand final set to be the rich Group 1 Tatt’s Tiara , run at Eagle Farm on June 24.
