In form mare CYMBALISM has now strung together two metropolitan wins after saluting at Doomben on Saturday afternoon.

The five year old mare by Darley stallion DENMAN has proved a great money spinner for her connections since transferring to the Brisbane stables of Chris Meagher last year.

Originally trained in Sydney by leading trainer Chris Waller, CYMBALISM gave her owners a glimpse of her potential when she won at the rich Scone stand-alone carnival with Hugh Bowman on board early in her career.

Unfortunately she was unable to repeat that performance and ended up being shuttled to the Waller Melbourne stable where she managed a few minor placings before eventually being transferred to the Meagher stable at Mornington.

CYMBALISM was able to win impressively on the Geelong Synthetic track this time last year, before a second placing (when a heavily backed favourite) in July prompted a stable switch to Queensland.

The mare seemed to thrive in the warmer conditions and Meagher presented her in fantastic order when an easy five length winner at Ipswich in November.

This prompted the connections to plan an attack on the Magic Millions carnival at the Gold Coast in January , however a luckless 4th at the same track before Christmas , ultimately saw her cruelly balloted out of the race.

CYMBALISM was subsequently thrown into the deep end in February at the recently reopened Eagle Farm , where she ran a credible 6th , behind the in form SKATE TO PARIS.

Meagher had appeared to work wonders with a mare who has historically struggled to maintain condition and she looked a million dollars when she rolled the heavily fancied EMSIE IS A STAR at Doomben, before again taking pick of the yard honours on Saturday when romping to another effortless victory.

CYMBALISM will now head back to Doomben on Saturday 20th April for a $75,000 BM 85 Handicap over 1350m. A win there could potentially earn her a crack at black type races during the Brisbane winter carnival.

The mare also holds a nomination for the May Magic Millions sale at the Gold Coast, however another strong performance at Doomben will provide the owners plenty of food for thought.
