LANG BROTHERS RACING has partnered with Furlong Bloodstock to offer this stunning son of recently retired stallion CHOISIR at next weeks Magic Million 2YO In Training Sale on the Gold Coast.
Purchased earlier this year at the Magic Millions National Yearling Sale , he is the first foal of MORE THAN READY mare SEISMIC WARNING and is closely related to Group 1 Flight Stakes winner CHEEKY CHOICE and Group 3 Epona Stakes winner SCRATCHY BOTTOM.
“We were keen to pick up a yearling to prepare for this particular sale and Billy Healey was the one who spotted him “ said part owner Stuart Lang.
“We had to pay a fair bit to get him , but as you can see in the videos, he is that classic chestnut colour synonymous with CHOISIR and is a lovely mover”.
“We made the decision to geld him straight away and he has really flourished in the Healey Racing system on the Sunshine Coast” added Lang.
Healey was in the saddle during the official Breeze Up sessions on the Gold Coast this morning , with the horse running a handy 11.29 secs , on the rain affected dirt surface .
“He gave me a really good feel , and as you can see in the video , he is a really good mover” said Healey.
“Its a shame we have to sell him as he’s a lovely horse and looks to be a real sprinting type”.
His sire CHOISIR was a world class sprinter himself, winning the Breeders Classic and Skyline Stakes as a two-year-old , before running 3rd in the Golden Slipper.
He won the time-honoured Lightning Stakes down the straight at Flemington at three , before winning the Royal Ascot sprint double of the Kings Stand and Golden Jubilee, paving the way for Aussie sprinters to follow in his footsteps, including our very own BRAZEN BEAU.
CHOISIR would then go on to forge a successful career at stud , with notable progeny including Group 1 winners JAPONISME , SACRED CHOICE and STARSPANGLEDBANNER.
CHOISIR was retired from stud duties at Coolmore (Hunter Valley) this season having sired an impressive 67 individual stakes winners during his illustrious stallion career.
The gelding will go through the sales ring on Monday as Lot 57 and the team are confident of a strong result as he looks a ready mate racehorse.
