Seven year old gelding DREAM MASTER resumes in the last at Eagle Farm tomorrow chasing an elusive Saturday win for connections .
DREAM MASTER has put together an imposing record since moving to the Queensland stable of Toby and Trent Edmonds but is still yet to salute in town on a Saturday.
He tuned up for tomorrows assignment with a solid barrier trial t the Gold Cost earlier in the week , nosed out by FUJI FLYER over 1000m , when not put under too much pressure .
Regular hoop Michael Cahill was happy with the effort and will again partner the horse at Eagle Farm tomorrow.
DREAM MASTER certainly deserves to breakthrough for a much overdue Saturday win , and will line up in Race 9 , the BRC MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL Class 6 Handicap over 1000 METRES.
DREAM MASTER is the last remaining horse to race in the all gold silks of Ontrack Thoroughbred for Lang Brothers Racing, the colours of course , carried to high acclaim by BRAZEN BEAU and GIRL SUNDAY.
He was purchased at the 2015 Inglis Classic Sale for $60,000 and a victory tomorrow would see his career earnings surpass $200,000.
DREAM MASTER was originally trained in Sydney by leading trainer Chris Waller before switching north as a late three year old.
“He has been a very consistent horse over the last few seasons since moving to the Gold Coast” said part owner Matt Lang .
“He had a really bad habit of buckjumping soon after the start early on and he has dumped the rider three times during his career ” added Lang.
“But the Edmonds team have done a great job in teaching him to settle in his races and he very rarely runs a bad race these days”.
DREAM MASTER has certainly developed a strong record , winning 6 races , whilst also racking up 8 seconds and 6 thirds , in a 28 start career.
“You would love to have a stable full of horses like him as he always looks the winner at some stage in his races ” mused Lang .
His last win came at Doomben in September 2019 when he romped home by close to 5 lengths with Cahill in the saddle.
He then notched up a string of placings in Saturday grade , the latest in February , when beaten just over a length by INVINCIBLE AL.
Connections will be hoping DREAM MASTER can strike first up at Eagle Farm tomorrow and finally put a Saturday win on the mantlepiece.
